This policy applies to the iOS app ClipDashcam for Tesla and its website (clipdashcam.sunnyjlab.com), operated by Sunny J Lab. We have no sign-up or account feature or server that receives app data; app data is processed and stored on your device.
1. Information and purposes
ClipDashcam for Tesla
- The app only reads videos from the TeslaCam folder you choose and displays recorded driving information, such as location and speed. License plate recognition runs on your device. Decrypted and exported videos and settings stay on your device; videos are only added to Photos when you save them.
- If a video contains coordinates, the editing screen shows a driving route map regardless of the “Location” setting. To display the map, information about that area is sent to Apple’s map service.
- The “Location” setting (on by default) controls only addresses in the exported video strip. When enabled, recorded coordinates are sent to Apple’s map service to obtain addresses. Addresses are embedded in the exported video, saved on your device, and included when you share it. The app uses only recorded coordinates and does not request device location permission; we receive neither coordinates nor addresses.
- To open encrypted videos, you sign in directly on a Tesla web page inside the app. Information needed for decryption, such as the vehicle identification number, is sent directly from your device to Tesla. Videos are not sent and we do not receive this information. The sign-in session stays on your device until you delete the app. There are no ads, analytics, or crash-reporting tools.
Website and inquiries
- Website: Cloudflare processes access records, such as IP addresses, to deliver and secure the site and provide access statistics. Your language choice is stored in your browser.
- Inquiries: we process your email address, name (if supplied), and message to reply and handle disputes.
2. Retention and deletion
Data in app storage is deleted when you delete the app. Files saved or shared outside the app must be deleted separately.
Inquiry records (email address, name, and message) are kept for 3 years after handling, under the retention rule for consumer complaint and dispute records in the Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. We destroy them without delay when retention ends and delete electronic files so they cannot be recovered.
3. Third-party provision, outsourcing, and transfers abroad
We do not sell personal information. Overseas transfers for outsourced website and inquiry processing are listed below. Recipient links provide privacy contact details.

Maps, address lookup, and video decryption use Apple’s map service and Tesla’s service directly from your device. Their policies apply; we do not receive the transmitted information.
4. Automatic collection tools
The website uses no cookies and stores only your language choice in your browser.
5. Security measures
We minimize collection by processing app data on your device, use HTTPS for website and app communications, and limit access to the inquiry email account to the representative.
6. Your rights
You or your legal representative may request access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing by email. We verify identity or authority and respond without delay, explaining any restriction such as a statutory retention duty. Manage device data and app permissions on your device.
The Tesla sign-in session is deleted when you delete the app.

9. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page at least 7 days before they take effect. This policy takes effect on October 6, 2026.
